Melissa Brodland is a senior at the UW in oceanography with an emphasis on Marine Geology. She has been studying the worlds oceans since early high school when she competed in the WA State Ocean Sciences Bowl. She is spending most of the summer of 2008 at sea on research trips through the School of Oceanography and hopes to not get too sunburned in the process. Her interests include Kixero (cat), gardening, playing computer games, and being surrounded by amazing people.
